Elephant Branded Donates Hundreds of Backpacks

Five hundred students at Cambodian Children’s Fund have brand-new backpacks for school thanks to a generous donation from Elephant Branded.

The first shipment bags were handed out to enthusiastic – and orderly – students at CCF’s satellite schools. These schools were built in the heart of several impoverished villages around the former dumpsite in Phnom Penh to allow the hardest to reach kids a chance to study. Many of the children are attending school for the first time, or after a long absence due to having to work to support their families. School supplies, such as backpacks like the ones provided by Elephant Branded

The remaining bags that day were distributed to young students learning near the Community Centre. A number of the kids already had books, pencils and other supplies to stuff the bags with. “What do you think?” one student was asked. The girl responded with a huge grin and held the bag above her head.

“We respect the philosophy and pragmatism of Elephant Branded and this generous donation will not only benefit our children but the people in the community producing the backpacks. The kids are not in a position to purchase their own equipment and these bags are both practical and ethical. A double whammy for CCF!” said Scott Neeson, founder of the Cambodian Children’s Fund. “We hope this is just the start of a long-term relationship.”
