ANTHONY VELUZ

Lincoln, United Kingdom

Hi, my name in Anthony Veluz. I am currently doing my Masters in International Law at the University of Lincoln, where also I did my undergraduate degree in Law and Business. After I graduated I did a postgraduate course in Business, Human Rights Law and Corporate Social Responsibility with the Open University and that's when I first came across Elephant Branded, when I was looking at companies for my assignment on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). CSR is an area I'm really interested in and I think more companies should engage in it; companies should operate responsibly and a good and fair society cannot be created without their help. Businesses have a responsibility to become moral actors and Elephant Branded have become exactly that.

Every child has the right to an education and access to school kits which will help them with their studies, which we probably take for granted, so I love the fact that Elephant Branded donates a school kit to a child in Africa or Asia when someone purchases a EB product. I have been fortunate enough to volunteer in schools, with charities such as Action for Children and Sue's Place, and more recently working with young people on the National Citizen Service. All of the young people I have worked with have been given great opportunities to socially develop, learn and do some really good things and Elephant Branded essentially does the same for children in Africa and Asia.

I also love the fact that EB products are ethically made and that suppliers are fairly paid and are not taken advantage of. All this ties in well with CSR.

I can spread the word about Elephant Branded around campus at the University of Lincoln as well as at the city's other university, Bishop Grosseteste University. The Graduate School at the University of Lincoln publishes a monthly newsletter which students are encouraged to add articles in and I could certainly do a few pieces on Elephant Branded and get the word out. The Graduate School also invites students to blog on their website so I can also write about Elephant Branded there.
